BALMAR Secure EU Funding for Digital Innovation in Manufacturing

BALMAR, in collaboration with Stroka Produkt, has successfully secured funding through the greenSME open call to implement two groundbreaking digitalization projects: AI-Powered Digital Quality Assurance for Additive Manufacturing and the Digital Product Passport (DPP). These projects have received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the GA 101058613.

As a leader in additive manufacturing, BALMAR is committed to digital transformation, resource efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The AI-Powered Digital Quality Assurance project focuses on machine learning-driven powder verification, reducing material waste, production defects, and inefficiencies. The DPP project establishes a centralized digital record to enhance traceability, transparency, and regulatory compliance in the supply chain.

The implementation of these solutions is expected to deliver significant improvements:

  • AI-powered powder verification will reduce failed prints by up to 20%, optimize material use, and lower costs.
  • The Digital Product Passport will streamline data integration, enabling cost savings, improved stakeholder trust, and reduction in resource waste.

Both projects enhance sustainability, ensuring regulatory compliance, market competitiveness, and a digital-first approach in manufacturing.

Through these cutting-edge solutions, BALMAR and Stroka Produkt are paving the way for a more sustainable, efficient, and digitally advanced manufacturing ecosystem, strengthening their role as industry leaders in Europe.
